LCI Law's Greek litigation team has secured another important victory for an EU‑based insurer before the Greek Court of Appeal.
The Court ruled that a fully authorized insurance agent has authority to negotiate, agree and modify the policy on behalf of the assured, as well as to seek retrospective cancellation of the policy. As a result, the policy had been validly amended and cancelled before the occurrence of the loss and no cover was in force on the date of the loss. Our clients, the insurers, therefore had no obligation to indemnify.
